We’re more than half way through 2016! That means it’s time to do a little check-in on this year’s goals!
Back in January, I shared a few of my personal goals for 2016 and how I keep track of them in order to check on my progress throughout the year. If you made goals along with me back in January, remember to do your quarter two update and see how far you’ve come in the first six months of the year and where you can improve.
Here’s my quarter two check-in:
Reading – This year I set the goal of reading 20 books. I was doing so well at the beginning of the year and in my quarter one check-in, I was in the middle of book six. Sadly, the move wore me out and I was so exhausted at the end of each day that I just couldn’t pick up a book. Luckily, now that we’re more settled in our new home, I have the energy to dive into a book at the end of the day and I’m currently in the middle of book eight. According to Goodreads, I’m two books behind, but I’m going to try my best to make it up and work my way through my summer reading list!
Health/Fitness – My goal this year was to get in more solo workouts on top of going to Stroller Strides. I haven’t yet done it, but I’m going to try and make it a priority this quarter!
Travel – We wanted to make a plan to do more small trips this year. In quarter two, Cecilia and I took a weekend trip to Disneyland with family and we’re currently chatting about doing a small trip or staycation next month.
Social – My goal with this was to reach out to friends more and plan small outings and get togethers. Again, the darn move got in the way a bit, but I have been better at getting in some great playdates when our calendar allows.
Relationships – More date nights was the goal and I’m happy to say that in the past few weeks, Travis and I have decided that this is going to be a major priority for us from here on out. We had a fun date night dinner for my birthday last week and already have two more date nights on our calendar in the next couple of weeks!
Financial – My financial goal for this year was to try and save our family more money by finding something part-time where my schedule allowed. Still working on this!
Home – Staying on top of the cleaning and re-decorating our place was a goal for the year. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d be in a different home at any point this year, much less one we own. I have had a great time decorating our new place and just typed up my new cleaning schedule that I’m trying to stay on top of. We’ve already completed a bunch of little jobs around the house with many more planned for the future. I think it’s safe to say, I’ve been super successful with this goal.
Well, there’s my quarter two check-in! How are your goals for the year coming along?
