We’re one quarter of the way through 2017, which means it’s time to take a look back at the goals we made in January and see where we’re at in reaching them.
In January, I shared my personal goals for 2017. If you want to take a look back to 2016 to see exactly how I establish and keep track of my goals, you can find that post here. It’s not too late for you to set goals for this year, so don’t let that discourage you from doing it now if you didn’t do it a couple months ago.
Let’s take a look and see how I’m coming along so far…
Reading – My goal is to read 24 books by then end of 2017. I’m reading my seventh book now, so I’m in pretty good shape. If reading a certain number of books was on your list of goals and you need some recommendations, check out my book reviews!
Health/Fitness – My goal for this year was to start getting in solo workouts beyond our Stroller Strides routine. In the past month, I’ve been on a handful of solo runs and I absolutely love it. It’s amazing how much faster I am when I’m not pushing a stroller with a toddler inside! I am running the Bay to Breakers next month with my dad, so even though I’ve been doing well the past month, I’ve really got to kick it into high gear in the next six weeks.
Social – Meeting up with friends a couple of times a month is something that is important to me. Beyond my regular Mom’s Night Out with my Stroller Strides pals, I’ve been able to meet up with friends on several other occasions and I can’t tell you how much it renews my energy and makes me a better wife and mom. All the more reason to make it a goal and stick to it!
Parenting – While we haven’t met a ton of new kids lately, we have been upping our playdates, which Cecilia and I love. Last month, we found out she got in to our number one pre-school choice, so we’ll all definitely be meeting new friends as the year goes on!
Relationship – We’ve fallen a little behind on our scheduled date nights, but we’ve certainly snuck a few in during the first three months of 2017. We also just had a great Spring Break together and it was great to have Travis home 24/7.
Home – My goal for our home this year was to finish all the paint touchups that still need to be done from when we painted last year. I haven’t gotten the paint cans out yet, but finishing at least one room is on my home project list I made for spring. Hopefully next quarter I’ll have finally completed at least one room!
Style – In 2017, I set the goal to put a little more effort into my clothes on a daily basis (and not just when I go out). Some days I have more energy for this than others, but I’ve got a ways to go to accomplish this goal.
Personal Growth/Learning – I haven’t taken any cooking classes yet this year, but I have gotten a few new cookbooks that I love and am starting to branch out from what I normally cook at home. I’ve been enjoying the past few months of experimenting in the kitchen and know it will continue into this next quarter of the year.
Now, you tell me…how are you coming along your 2017 goals????
