We are officially half way through 2017! Let’s check in with the goals we made at the beginning of the year to see how we’re doing.
In January, I shared my personal goals for 2017. If you want to take a look back to see exactly how I establish and keep track of my goals, you can find that post here. There is still time to make some great goals for the year, so don’t get discouraged! While half of the year may be behind us, that means there’s another half ahead of us! You can do it!
Here’s how I’m doing with my 2017 goals six months in…
Reading – My goal is to read 24 books this year. So far, I’ve completed 11 books. According to Goodreads, I’m one book behind, but I’m hoping I can catch up (or even move ahead of schedule) over our Italy trip. If you’re in need of some book recommendations, be sure to check out my book reviews and my summer reading list.
Health/Fitness – This year I really wanted to add in some solo runs on top of my Stroller Strides routine. In the last quarter I got in a lot of great runs in preparation for the Bay to Breakers, so I’ll call this a success! Additionally, I began Stroller Strides instructor certification in the last quarter (and completed it earlier this week), so there has been no shortage of workouts on my end.
Social – I’ve definitely been squeezing in as many Mom’s Night Out events as I can. I had to say no to a few invites because of scheduling, but I’m hoping to get back in the swing of things after our vacation.
Parenting – We’ve been keeping up with our playdates and Cecilia has been meeting a ton of new kids her age at the different Stroller Strides locations we visited during my training. I love that she’s not as shy around other kids anymore and makes an effort to engage and play with them.
Relationship – We need to work on date nights this quarter! We were great about scheduling them at the beginning on the year then we fell off the wagon and started focusing on not going out as much to save up for Italy.
Home – My goal this year was to do all the paint touch-ups that need to be done around the house, but I have not touched a paint can this year. Womp, womp. I do plan on giving our house a good cleaning before we leave this weekend, so at least I’ve got that going for me…
Style – I can definitely work on putting more of an effort into my clothes after my post-workout shower. I got rid of most of my summer clothes during a big closet clean-out a couple months back, but I was able to buy new tops and shorts for my birthday, so at least I now have clothes that fit me AND are in line with current style trends (unlike the clothes I had and got rid of).
Personal Growth/Learning – I have been cooking a ton from a few new cookbooks that I absolutely love and plan on sharing with you soon. While I haven’t taken any cooking classes to focus on learning something new (which was my actual goal), I have very recently gone through Stroller Strides instructor training and that opened up a whole new world of learning for me. The whole process was incredibly eye-opening for me and I loved learning more about the human body, especially the prenatal and postnatal body. It had been the first time in a while that I had to read, comprehend and take multiple exams and I have to say that I loved being back in student mode.
Okay, now you tell me – how are you doing on your goals????
