Now’s the time to take a look at your 2017 goals and see how you did! Here’s how I fared…
Reading – My goal was to read 24 books and my final tally for the year was 21. I was oh so close, but unfortunately didn’t get there. I did end up reading one more book than I did the prior year, so I’ll call it a half win 🙂
Health/Fitness – My goal for the year was to get in solo workouts. I did really well with them until I ran the Bay to Breakers and then sort of fell off. Since preschool started in September, I have been able to make it to Stroller Strides kid-free which has been nice. Time to amp up the solo workouts after the baby is born in a few months!
Social – I think I did really well in reaching this goal. I got out on my own and with friends a lot more than I had been and it makes a huge difference in how I approach the ins and outs of motherhood. I really like this goal and may carry it over into 2018.
Parenting – Starting preschool has been HUGE for us in terms of meeting new kids in different environments and making more playdates. Cecilia has grown so much since September and I love seeing her create new relationships with other kids her age.
Relationship – We weren’t so great about date nights this year. We definitely went through spurts when we’d get a few on the books at once, but life has been crazy these past few months and we haven’t gotten back to scheduling that time together. Another thing to carry on this year!
Home – I totally failed on this one. My goal was to finish all of the paint touchups that need to be done around the house and I’ve done ZERO. Womp, womp. I have GOT TO work on this in 2018 because they still bug the daylights out of me!
Style – I have gotten much better at taking care of myself and my appearance. It’s always so easy to go from workout outfit to workout outfit, but I notice how much better it makes me feel when I put in a little more effort. Having regular dates with Travis and friends helps me get my act together and so do the extra playdates we’ve been having. Also, now that my baby bump has gotten bigger a lot of my workout clothes don’t fit, so I have no other choice than to wear “regular” street clothes. Ha! I’ll call this a win!
Personal Growth/Learning – This goal was focused more on expanding my culinary knowledge and skill. I was really fired up to get back into cooking classes at the beginning of the year and while that didn’t happen, I feel like I’ve really expanded my cooking horizons on my own at home. I cook at least one new meal a week and have strayed from the “cop out” recipes that started to creep into our weekly menu all too often. While I may not have taken any additional cooking classes this year, I did complete my Fit4Mom instructor training this summer and I can’t even begin to tell you how much new knowledge I gained and how much I’ve learned about myself the past few months. Wins all around!
Now your turn! How did you do on your 2017 goals?
Stay tuned next week as I unveil an all new set of goals for 2018!
