August – you came and went so fast! Here were my five favorite things about you…
Day Trip to Laguna Beach – I talked about our day trip to Laguna Beach here and it was one of my favorite things we did this month. I loved driving and walking along the ocean (even though I do that here in San Diego), eating great food and exploring new cities as a family. We’re looking forward to our next visit there already!
Cooking with Cecilia – This is probably one of my favorite things of the year, forget the month! I chatted earlier this month about how Cecilia helps in the kitchen and I heard from so many of you about it! We honestly cannot do anything in the kitchen without her hopping into her learning tower and helping in any way we let her. She’s great at getting out her bowls for a meal, taking the tops off of strawberries, mixing and adding ingredients and, of course, taste-testing. I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to baking cookies with her for the holidays. I’m already planning!
Spending time on my own and with friends – Since Travis’ schedule was a lot lighter this month, I was able to get away and get a pedicure on my own (hadn’t done that in so long!), have a couple of lunches with great friends and go out to dinner with my Stroller Strides pals. It was so nice to have some more flexibility with my plans and not have to constantly chase a toddler around, even though every time I was gone, I couldn’t wait to get back home to her 🙂
Beautiful (the Carole King musical) – Such an AMAZING show! I had tickets for the show since January, so I was so excited when the day of the performance finally arrived. I had a mini Moms Night Out with one of my Stroller Strides instructors who was my date and we enjoyed a nice glass of wine and had a great time chatting before the show. The show itself was phenomenal and made me wish so much that I had actual singing talent. I’ve been listening to Carole King on repeat since and have been in such awe of her talent even more so than before. If you have the opportunity to see it, do it! It’s not to be missed!
The Olympics – Well if you read any of my Monday posts while the Olympics were on, you know that I was pretty much watching them all day long. I was so sad when they were over, but was kind of happy to get my life back and settle back into my normal day and night routines. I can’t wait for the Winter Olympics in two years!
