I know February is the shortest month and all, but it seriously went by in a blink. Here’s what I loved about it…
Zoo Trips with Cecilia – It seems like in the last month, we’ve gone to the zoo at least once a week. Since we’re members, it’s easy to just pop over for an hour or so then go home to nap, do chores, etc. I’ve mentioned before that Cecilia loves riding the Skyfari, so that’s a must whenever we visit, but other than that I just let her roam where she wants to and I follow. Outside the zoo, there is a small train and a carousel, so if I have cash on me for both of us to ride either (or both), we do that, too. She loves them both and the look on her face is pure joy.
Date Nights – We were able to get in a date night this month (and have another one on the books for our anniversary this Saturday) and I’m so grateful for it. It’s nice to know we’re leaving Cecilia in good hands to get out and have a nice adults-only dinner.
Frozen – While I would love to watch something other than Frozen every once in a while, I love that Cecilia enjoys it so much. Since I downloaded the soundtrack onto my phone, we’ve been listening to the music in the car and she gets sooooooooo crazy excited when she hears the opening notes to a song. Her entire face lights up and she tries to sing along as best she can. It’s absolutely adorable.
Super Bowl – Normally we don’t do anything for the Super Bowl (besides have it on in the background while we do other things), but this year I made sheet pan nachos for the first time and Moscow mules. I danced like a crazy person to Lady Gaga at half time and was shocked at the ending along with the rest of the country. Overall, it was a fantastic family night.
Brownies in a Cup – I have become obsessed with making a brownie in a cup. It all started when I wanted chocolate one night and we didn’t have any cookies or anything like that. I had seen so many recipes for making a brownie in a cup online and I knew I had all the ingredients, so I decided to give it a whirl. I paired it with some ice cream we had in the fridge left over from Cecilia’s birthday and I was instantly hooked. I’ve been tweaking a recipe I found and I hope to share it here this month, so be on the lookout!
