Valentine’s Day – Travis and I have never really been Valentine’s Day people. After our first year of dating, we decided to take a low-key approach to the holiday and generally just buy each other a card and have dinner at home. This year we spent the day together as a family of three and ended it with a picnic at the beach with cheese, crackers, fruit and chocolate cake. It was our first time at the beach together as a family since Cecilia was little and Travis loved helping her dip her feet in the ocean. Honestly, if we would let her, she’d just dive right in! It was such a perfect day!
Family Sunday – Really the main reason we were able to spend Valentine’s together was because it landed on a Sunday, which is Travis’ only day off. For that reason, we’ve coined the term “Family Sunday” (super original, I know), which has really become a sacred day in our house. Our family Sundays typically include morning FaceTime sessions between Cecilia and her grandparents, a walk around the neighborhood, trips to the park or beach, nice meals and quality family time. It’s my favorite day of the week!
This blackberry drink – I’m still obsessed with the blackberry drink I posted a couple of weeks back. It’s warm here and this drink is soooooooo good to cool down with!
All the Gilmore Girls news – A couple of weeks ago, it didn’t feel like a day went by without some Gilmore Girls reunion news – I was in heaven! Now we know all of Rory’s ex-boyfriends and Paris will be on the show, it has started filming and the scripts for each of the four episodes have been sent to the cast. Can it just be on Netflix already???? Speaking of, I don’t even think we have a release date. Hopefully that will come out soon!
Downton Abbey – I have loved this season of Downton Abbey so far and think it’s their best yet. Actually I think last week’s episode was my favorite yet. I absolutely adore Michelle Dockery and how she made Lady Mary completely repulsive and unlikable in one scene and then 10 minutes later you were crying and felt sorry for her. And, Branson…how I love him. Such a sweetheart who has become such a strong voice in a family who once shunned him. I sure am going to miss that show.
