The first month of 2017 is in the books!
This month brought us great moments as we finished a memorable few weeks of holiday travels and celebrated Cecilia’s second birthday. It also brought with it stressful times with the damage our leaky patio door has caused to our home and what seems like constant bad news everywhere you look.
In these uncertain times, I think it is even more important to remember what you are grateful for (no matter how big or small those things may seem to you or the world in which you live) and look for the hope and good in each day.
Here are five things I loved in January…
Bite Beauty Lip Crayons – I am so in love with these! I’ve never been one to wear a bold lipstick color (or really any lipstick at all), so I don’t know what it is about these that make me want to rock a bold lip 24/7. To be completely truthful, I always wanted to be one of those gals who could wear bright red lipstick a la Betty Draper from Mad Men, but I never thought I could pull it off. Turns out, I (kind of) can…at least in my opinion and using these lip crayons. I was introduced to them at our Stroller Strides holiday party and immediate became obsessed. I asked Travis to buy me a tin of four colors they were selling at Sephora at Christmas and I have had so much fun experimenting with them ever since. You have to try them! My favorite color of the moment is Red Velvet.
Rodial Makeup and Skincare Products – More beauty/makeup loves! I was lucky enough to be sent two amazing packages of Rodial products to try out and talk about and I honestly love every product of theirs I have used. I wrote a roundup of my first Rodial package, and have since fallen in love with their skin tint and day cream.
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah – I’m sharing my full review of this book on Friday, but I just have to tell you now that it was AMAZING and one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. I highly recommend it!
New Year, New Goals – I love January because it’s a time to start fresh. I set so many personal goals for this year, as well as goals for this site, and I’m excited to continue to hit the ground running and work on them.
Cecilia’s 2nd Birthday – This past weekend we celebrated Cecilia’s 2nd birthday. It was such a fantastic weekend because we spent every minute of every day celebrating our sweet girl. The birthday party I’ve been thinking about for the last month, was a huge success and I couldn’t be happier with how our festivities went.
What were your January favorites????
