What???? How the heck are we half way through the year already? I know I say it every month, but OMG, I just can’t believe how fast these months are flying by. Before we barrel into July, let’s take a look back at June and talk about our favorites.
Mom’s Night Out Flower Arranging Class – I’ve always wanted to take a flower arranging class, so when one of our Stroller Strides members said her mom could teach us for a Mom’s Night Out, we jumped at the chance to organize it. I feel like I learned so much and now I can walk into a store, grab some of my favorite flowers and make something gorgeous with them. It was also a great night to eat great food, drink wine and just hang out with my friends. That’s perfection in my book.
Stroller Strides Instructor Training – As I mentioned in a recent Monday Musings, I’ve been in training to become a Stroller Strides instructor for the past month. It’s taken me away from this space recently because I’ve wanted to pour myself into the training, but my schedule with it is easing up a bit in the next couple of weeks, so I’m hoping to get back to writing more. As of late, I’ve been team teaching and the entire process has been an incredible experience so far. You all know that I am absolutely in love with Stroller Strides and Fit4Mom as an organization, so getting to know more about the company, creating a great fitness class, exercise physiology and everything else that has come along with this training has been amazing. I’ve definitely had a lot of nerves mixed in there, but I’m also really excited before every team teach because it’s been such a satisfying experience so far.
Cecilia’s First Baseball Game – A few weeks ago, after watching an episode of Dora the Explorer, Cecilia became obsessed with baseball. We bought tickets for a Padres game soon after and she LOVED being at the ballpark. They were giving away plastic bats and balls and, since we sat in the outfield grass area, she was able to play baseball the entire time. We went on a Sunday afternoon which is always KidFest at Petco Park, so there were a few bouncy houses, a face painter, balloon animals and other games for the kids. There’s also a sandpit in the outfield, so she had fun playing in it. Oh, and the giant soft serve ice cream served in a little plastic helmet we ate didn’t hurt things either. I grew up as a season ticket holder for the Oakland A’s, so I love that my little girl now enjoys the same game I love.
New Kids on the Block Concert – On the first day of the month, I went with a group of pals to see NKOTB! Y’all, it was AHHHHHHH-MAZING. We had THE BEST time and I’m still singing New Kids songs one month later. So good!
Birthday Shopping – I celebrated my 35th birthday a couple of days ago and actually did some shopping for myself to celebrate (thanks to a few generous family members and my husband). A few of the things I bought were things that I really NEEDED, but it was also nice to include some things that I WANTED. There’s a big difference between those two words and it was nice to just walk into a store on a whim, see something I like and buy it.
Your turn! Tell me your June favorites!
