Strawberry picking at Suzie’s Farm – As I mentioned here, we went strawberry picking with Cecilia a few Saturdays ago. Even though the rain the night before made it a muddy affair, we had an absolute blast and can’t wait to go again. It was so much fun to see her go crazy over seeing the strawberries on their plant and go from not realizing that she had to yank at them to get them off the plant to being an expert picker in no time. I thought I’d have to be putting strawberries in everything for a few days in order to use them up before they went bad, but not with my strawberry queen! Our pints were done in TWO days!
My garden – Speaking of strawberries, I planted four strawberry plants in my garden plot to hopefully keep Cecilia in berries throughout the summer. My garden has really become one of my favorite places and I’m so happy that I had the opportunity to take up a plot in this small community garden in our neighborhood. Until recently I would visit the garden without Cecilia since she is so active and I would be chasing her around more than getting any work done, but I’ve taken her on my last few visits and it’s so much fun to see her check out all the plants and try to water them. My dad and step-mom gave her a little gardening tote for Easter and I can’t wait to see her use all her new tools!
Spring Break Getaway – We learned last week that vacationing with a toddler is not exactly restful and relaxing. Cecilia was so off her routine and HATED the hotel cribs which resulted in very little sleep for everyone. Throw some major teething on top of that and you’ve got us seriously considering just doing staycations at our house until she’s 17. While we didn’t get any of the much-needed rest we were looking for on this trip, we made so many lovely family memories and had fun having adventures as a little family. Vacation recap post coming at ya soon!
Celebrating Easter – Cecilia loves an egg hunt – and she is really good at them! We participated in a Stroller Strides egg hunt the week of Easter and it took her a while to understand that you put the eggs you find in your basket, then look for more and not just find one, open it and ignore everything else. She got pretty good at opening the little plastic eggs she found and loved finding little treats inside. I did a mini egg hunt for her in our hotel room on Easter morning and she loved that, too! Oh, and I hid her Easter basket (in the bathtub) for her to find. So fun!
