Oh, May, you were wonderful. Here’s what I loved about you…
Bay to Breakers Trip – Mid-month, we made our yearly Bay to Breakers trip. We missed the race last year because we were about to close escrow on our house and that was the first time I’d missed the Bay to Breakers in who knows how many years. It was nice to run the race again (we walked only a couple miles of it the year Cecilia was born) and have that experience with my dad. I totally lost him in a sea of people during mile one, so we each ran solo, but it was still the best experience to be back at it with him. We stay with family while we’re in the Bay Area, so not only was it nice to soak up the family time with Travis and Cecilia, but also with my dad, step-mom and aunt. Our last day in town, we made the trip to Tilden Park Little Farm so Cecilia could feed the animals. You may remember that we visited there while we were in the Bay Area at Christmas, so it was nice to go back to feed the animals and take a little hike on the gorgeous grounds. We also found a cute little food hall to eat at in Berkeley that had a beautiful garden behind it to enjoy our lunch. There’s nothing like family time and the Bay Area to make this girl happy.
Watch What Happens Live Taping – As I mentioned earlier this week, I went to LA with three friends last week to see a taping of Andy Cohen’s late night show. It was seriously one of the best days ever. Our show had the BEST scheduled and surprise guests and the whole experience was so enjoyable and exciting. One of my friends and I got to ask Andy Cohen a question before the show and then after the taping we went and had drinks and a late bite to eat at SUR, which is owned by Beverly Hills housewife Lisa Vanderpump. We even saw a few Vanderpump Rules cast members there, too. We got home around 1am and had to get up early the next day with our kids, but it was all worth it. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
Summer Travel Planning – Our little family is going to Italy this summer! In the last week we’ve purchased our flights from San Diego to Italy and from Italy to DC, where we’ll take a few day detour on our way home to meet up with Travis’ dad and step-mom. While I’m excited for my third Italian trip, this time around I’m nervous for the long travel days with an active toddler. She has done fantastic on all the plane trips we’ve taken so far, but Texas is the farthest we’ve traveled with her. I know I’m going to be uber prepared for her and am crossing my fingers and saying my prayers for safe, smooth flights.
Podcasts – In the last month or so, I’ve started listening to podcasts. In fact, I’m listening to one as I type right now. Is that weird that I’m listening to a podcast while I write about podcasts? I’m only subscribed to a few so far, but my favorite is The West Wing Weekly. I’ve been re-watching the show and then listening to the corresponding podcast that week and I am really enjoying the process. What are your favorite podcasts???? Let me know!
Mother’s Day – Travis and Cecilia went all out for Mother’s Day this year. After my morning run and shower, I was treated to breakfast in bed (pancakes, fruit and coffee) and the rest of the day was spent relaxing with a mani/pedi, more coffee and outdoor family time. I also got a homemade card and beautiful earrings and a necklace from my favorite store. I’m a BIG fan of Mother’s Day!
Tell me your May faves!
