So long, November! Here’s what I loved about you…
Thanksgiving trip – As I mentioned in my previous post, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving trip to Santa Fe. Cecilia is such a seasoned traveler now, that I don’t get nervous thinking about how she’ll be on an airplane or how we’ll keep her busy at an airport. She did a great job with both and I’m so thankful for that. We had a lovely time visiting with some of Travis’ family in Santa Fe and it was great to see Cecilia have a fun time with all of the Thanksgiving prep.
Getting back to reading – I had been a total slacker when it came to reading the past couple of months. This pregnancy had me absolutely EXHAUSTED each day that whenever I’d try to read, I couldn’t go more than a page before I fell asleep. Being away and not having my usual daily tasks to occupy me during nap and after bedtime helped get me back into the groove of reading. I’m hoping I can keep it up as we move into the last month of the year!
Royal engagement announcement – I’m crazy excited about this wedding, y’all. I’ve mentioned here a few times that I woke up super early to watch William and Kate’s wedding and I plan to do the same for this one if it’s televised. Being that I’ll have a teeny tiny baby come May, I’m thinking I may already be up in the middle of the night and not have to set an alarm this time around. Oh, and to further demonstrate my slight obsession with the British Royal Family, I’ve seen every documentary about them that Netflix has to offer, I follow Kensington Palace and a few Royal reporters on Twitter and I even follow some blogs that follow the Duchess of Cambridge’s fashion….and I totally started following a blog about Meghan. I promise I’m not totally weird.
Holiday prep – I normally wait until December 1st to decorate my house for Christmas, but I couldn’t wait this year and did it this past weekend. We’re still waiting to get our tree until the new month starts, but the holiday spirit is already strong around here. Cecilia is SUPER excited to get a tree and it’s absolutely adorable to see how pumped she can get about Santa and Christmas. The holidays just keep getting more fun with her!
The Grinch – Earlier this month we saw How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the Old Globe Theatre here in San Diego. We tried to take Cecilia last year and she lasted all of 30 minutes before she lost her marbles and we had to leave. This year I was nervous about how she’d react and if she’d be able to last through the whole show, but she was so good! She was scared of the Grinch at first, but eventually whenever he wasn’t on stage, she’d ask where he went and wanted him to come back. I’m excited to take her to more shows now that she’s getting older and has a better attention span and can sit still for upwards of an hour. The next week I took her to a kids classical concert Travis was playing and over Thanksgiving we took her to see her first movie in the theatre. So fun!
