November, you were gone in a blink. Here’s what I loved about you…
Thanksgiving – We had such an amazing Thanksgiving! Cecilia traveled wonderfully to Santa Fe and back and we loved having so much family time to soak in. The meal was wonderful as always and even Cecilia loved having a hand in the prep. Travis and I even got to have a dinner date alone while we were there (thanks, Nana)!
The Old Globe Tree Lighting and The Grinch – This year was our second year watching the lovely folks at The Old Globe light their Grinch themed Christmas tree. They put on a great lighting with songs sung by the Grinch cast and it’s topped off with LOTS of fake snow. It was really lovely. This year we took Cecilia to see a performance of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas as well. She did really well for it being so close to nap time and I look forward to taking her in the future because I know she will love it.
Music Class with Cecilia – We are in the middle of our holiday music class session and my girl is absolutely loving it. She even put on a little performance of some of the Thanksgiving songs while we were in Santa Fe – it was adorable. I love how she absorbs everything like a sponge and appreciates playing each instrument. Playing music is in her blood and it’s great to watch her enjoy it.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life – I was going to do a whole write up on what I thought about the Gilmore Girls revival, but there are so many thoughts running through my head about it, that I can’t seem to get them all out. I thought the revival was solid and I’m sure I’ll come to like it even more as I re-watch the four episodes again. I’ve read some pretty great articles on it that I think sum up how I feel and have great insight. You can find those articles here and here. I loved how the entire show was a great walk down memory lane and all the surprise cameos (especially from Lauren Graham’s Parenthood co-stars). I could have done without the 15-minute Stars Hollow musical and I was so hoping that Carole King would have gotten up to sing the show’s theme song. What did you think?
Fixer Upper – The premiere of Fixer Upper was last night and I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed new episodes of Chip and Joanna! I keep trying to convince Travis to take me to Waco.
