During this season every year, I become a crazy pumpkin lady.
While I feel like the pumpkin spice craze has gotten legit crazy the past few years, I’m proud to say that I’m not one of those bandwagon pumpkin lovers. I’ve been going overboard on pumpkin EVERYTHING for as long as I remember. The first year my husband and I were dating, I literally had more than 15 real pumpkins of all different shapes, sizes and colors in my house. Seriously…every time we went in the vicinity of the farmer’s market, grocery store or pumpkin patch, I picked up a few more pumpkins to add to my collection. I think it’s something I passed down to my daughter because she starts kicking her legs and squealing like crazy whenever she sees a big pile of pumpkins.
While Trader Joe’s is one of my favorite places to go any time of year, since they share my insane love for all things pumpkin, it’s even more fun to go to during this season because it’s like pumpkins and pumpkin spice exploded throughout the entire store. The San Francisco Chronicle recently posted a list of all the pumpkin things they found at Trader Joe’s and I was not so shocked when I realized I’d tasted or purchased about 80% of them.
With that, here are five of my absolute pumpkin items from my beloved TJs…
Pumpkin O’s – This has been my breakfast since it first hit the shelves about a month ago. I wait for these all year long and am contemplating stocking up on boxes of it so I can still enjoy it long after it’s sold out. These pumpkin o’s are perfectly sweet and are great with milk for breakfast or dry as a snack.
Country Pumpkin Spice Granola – Again, I think I may stock up on the granola this year. Even my husband, who is not a pumpkin enthusiast, loves this granola and has it with Greek yogurt every morning.
This Pumpkin Walks into a Bar – A breakfast staple this time of year! I love all of the fruits in the “XYZ walks into a bar” line at TJs, but this one holds a special place in my heart.
Pumpkin Pancake and Waffle Mix – BEST PANCAKES HANDS DOWN. I bought these on a whim a couple of years back and fell in love with them and then proceeded to have them for breakfast every morning until the entire box of mix was gone. You honestly don’t even need syrup for these. They’re sweet (in a good way) and super moist.
Mini Ginger Pumpkin Ice Cream Mouthfuls – My favorite dessert this time of year! They’re a little heavy on the ginger when you first have them, but keep with them and they will soon become your favorite. It’s dangerous that you can eat one in one or two bites!
Alright, pumpkin lovers — what are your favorites????
