Hi! How was your Thanksgiving? Tell me about your delicious meal!
Last Monday we left for my mother-in-law’s in Santa Fe and we got back home Saturday afternoon. It was a really fun trip and Cecilia had a great time with her Nana, her Nana’s dogs and her aunt and uncle. We ate a ton and soaked up as much family time as possible. It was a fantastic Thanksgiving!
This was my seventh Thanksgiving in Santa Fe and it was BY FAR the warmest. I never had to wear a heavy coat, hat or gloves – highs were in the mid-60s! It was in the 90s here in San Diego while we were gone which is insane. I want my holiday weather!
Once we got home, I moved full speed ahead with putting away the Fall decorations and putting out our holiday stuff. We don’t have a tree yet (I just can’t do it before December 1st), but we’ll go get one this weekend to finish out the decorating.
Last year, I wrote a post all about my favorite holiday music. Yesterday morning I gave the first listen of the season to my James Taylor Holiday station on Pandora and my MOST FAVORITE version of one of my FAVORITE songs was the first song played. It was James Taylor’s version of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. His voice is always like butter to me, but this song just gets me when I hear him sing it. One year, when I was running the cooking school and listened to the station for eight hours a day, six days a week, it took me almost two weeks to hear his version of the song. I took it as a sign for a great holiday season that this was the first song that came on the station this year 🙂
I have to get cracking on my list of things to make this season! I promise to share it soon!
I’m finishing up addressing my holiday cards and they’re going to go out this week! I’m so excited to start receiving cards from friends and family. We’re totally those people who keep them up long after the holiday decorations come down.
I read a TON last week. I finished two books and started a third. Book reviews coming soon!
Are you as excited for the next Royal Wedding as I am???? I was definitely one of those people who woke up super early to watch William and Kate’s wedding. I had just gotten married about six weeks earlier and it was so exciting to see another couple tie the knot. Traditional English scones were even consumed while I watched. I spared no cheesiness 🙂
On one last note, if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I made a big announcement last week! I’m pregnant with a baby boy! Yes, yes, Cecilia is going to have a little brother come April. More on that soon!
Have a wonderful week!
