How was your weekend? We had our semi-traditional family happy hour in our neighborhood on Friday (which was also our fifth anniversary), went to a birthday party on Saturday and another one on Sunday! So much birthday fun this weekend!
I’ve been obsessed with making smoothies at home right now. I made one every day during the week last week and always made a bit too much, so I shared with Cecilia. She just got the hang of using a straw, so she loves using them every chance she gets. I didn’t measure anything, but just dumped in some mixed frozen berries, yogurt, milk, unsweetened organic applesauce, oats, spinach and a banana. So good!
Oh, and I’ve been drinking my smoothies out of a mason jar with one of these cuppow lids. I am IN LOVE! They have them for regular and wide mouth jars and in soooooooo many different colors. A regular sized straw fits in them, too, in case you like using them (which I do).
Remember the ball pit I made for Cecilia’s 1st birthday party? Well, just when I thought she was doing playing with it and we could put it all away, she stayed playing in it like crazy again. Her new game is to just lay down in the balls or sit in it, throw all the balls out and wait for me to throw them back to her. I guess it’s staying around for a bit longer!
So they sell “crafting eggs” at Michael’s for you to color without having to hard-boil (and then eat) real eggs. I was happy when I found them because I’m not one to sit and eat a hard-boiled egg and I wanted to try coloring them with Cecilia. Who else is getting excited for Spring?!?!?
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this picture of my first carrots from my garden (you can also see it above)! I was so excited when I pulled them out! I started them from seeds back in late November and am so proud they made it. They tasted amazing, too, if I do say so myself!
Have you visited any of my favorite food blogs? I pinned so many recipes from them this week and I don’t know where to start! Oh yeah, I know where – these cheesy roasted fingerling potatoes and this homemade pizookie!
So, the Downton Abbey era is officially over. Wahhhhhh! What did you think???? I was in tears at the end. And then the cast said those goodbyes! Ugh, there were puddles of tears below me, friends.
Am I the only one who didn’t know Trader Joe’s hides a stuffed animal in their store each day for kids to find and get a prize? Makes me love them even more!
Have a great week!
