How was your weekend? We had a fun family day yesterday complete with a coffee run and long park visit in the morning and a trip to gorgeous La Jolla in the afternoon. Like I’ve said here many times before, Sunday has become my favorite day of the week because it’s a day where I can try my best to un-wind and de-sress from the week and where we get to spend quality time as a family of three. LOVE!
Sunday is also grocery shopping day. I’ve been trying to find the best time to go and still haven’t settled on one. I used to go during Cecilia’s nap time, so I didn’t miss out on family time, but the parking lot and store lines are INSANE, so the trip takes a lot longer than it should and I want to pull my hair out by the end of it. Then, I tried going early in the morning, but missed my little family too much. More recently I’ve tried going after Cecilia is down for the night, but by then everything at the store is completely picked over and I end up having to go to more stores than I want to get all the things on my list. Ugh. Is this a problem for anyone else or am I overthinking all of this? When do you shop?
Oh, one more thing about grocery stores…one of my biggest pet peeves at Trader Joe’s is when people do not bag their own groceries. It makes the already long line that much longer since the checkers have to bag all the groceries after they’re done checking everything out. Seriously, what goes through people’s minds as they’re just STARING at the checker bag their groceries? I’ve overheard people complain about the long lines while they just stand there and make the checker do everything. It drives me CAH-RAZY! Okay. Rant over.
Did all you The West Wing fans go insane over the video of Allison Janney crashing a White House press briefing like I did? I love her. CJ Cregg 4-eva.
Over the weekend I watched The Sting for the first time. How had I not watched it before?!?!? It has two of my gorgeous imaginary boyfriends (Robert Redford and Paul Newman)! I thought the plot was fantastic and staring at those two leading men wasn’t half bad either 🙂
Last week I mentioned Cecilia was going through a sleep regression, but now I think it’s teething. She let me feel around in her mouth a couple of days ago and I felt THREE teeth coming in all at once. She’s been late to the teething party so far (she’s 15 months and only has four), so I guess she’s paying for it because so many want to all come in at once now. Poor girl!
Um, did you read all the hints on the internet about when the Gilmore Girls revival is going to hit Netflix? I read that it will be out late fall/early winter. And I read that Amy Sherman-Palladino wants there to be a couple of days between the release of each of the four episodes so that people don’t just skip to the end and ruin it for others or don’t just bing, but actually go outside and get some fresh air while waiting for the next one! I love that train of thought.
Have a great week!
