How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun and exciting? It was crazy hot here, so most of what we did centered around staying cool.
The Olympics have been on close to 24/7 in our house the past week. I feel like I’ve watched every swim event (although for some reason it always felt like I was watching the 200M butterfly) and stayed up until past midnight twice to watch gymnastics. I have been DRAGGING this week from the lack of sleep. Thanks, Olympics.
I watched handball for the first time ever last week! I honestly thought handball was played in a small court and was sort of like racquetball. I was completely mistaken because it’s a cross between basketball and soccer. Why isn’t it ever on TV outside of the Olympics?
Yesterday I had a party at my house for some former co-workers of mine and made this mixed berry lemon-drench cake. Y’all, it was sooooooo good! You have to make it while the berries are still amazing.
Today starts our four-day family staycation. We originally thought we would get out of town for a few days, but since our spring break trip this year was not so restful with a toddler who doesn’t sleep well in hotels, we decided to stay home and have a little stay-cay. We may take a couple of day trips, but are playing it by ear and relaxing as much as possible.
Last week I put Cecilia’s name on the wait list for a few pre-schools in the area. How is it possible that my baby will be starting pre-school next Fall? Where is the time going?!?!?
It’s already mid-August, folks, so let’s soak up these last few weeks of summer! Have a great week!
