How was your first official weekend of Fall? Did you sip all things apple and eat all things pumpkin?
The first Fall weekend in San Diego saw our fair-weather city reach the triple digits in some areas, so we weren’t feeling that traditional Fall feeling. That weather, though, is fairly typical of September/October in San Diego because of the lovely Santa Ana winds that can bring lots of unwanted heat.
On Saturday, we headed up to the mountain city of Julian to enjoy their famous apple pie. It had been eight years since Travis and I last went and back then, he hated it. Since we first went, I’ve asked him to go back a couple of times, but he’s always said “no” because it was “boring.” On our way home from this trip, he actually said he liked Julian and would go back. What a difference Cecilia makes! 🙂
Did you watch the premiere of This is Us last week? I’ve been seeing the commercials for a while now and while Jess (aka Milo Ventimiglia) is in it, I really didn’t have an interest in watching it. Well, I watched it and now I’m hooked. I said “WHAT?!?!?” no less than five times in the last five minutes of the show and now I can’t wait for this week’s episode to see where this crazy show goes from here. For those who watched, what did you think? Tell me!
We went on our first preschool visit last week and Cecilia had such a great time looking at the classroom and the kids play on the playground. While, preschool is still a year away, I’m so excited for her to experience it because I know she will have an amazing time and enjoy every second of it. Seeing her play with friends, even now, just warms my heart and I can’t wait to see her gain some more independence and make new friends. We have four more visits coming up in October and are excited to see what each school has to offer.
Did you catch last week’s post about how to make spooky chocolate and candy bugs? I guarantee these will be a huge hit at your Halloween party!
I started re-watching The West Wing for the 100th time and I love it so much, I can’t even tell you. I want to be CJ Cregg SO BAD!
I had four waaaaaaay over ripe bananas this week and for the first time ever, I made banana bread! How had I never made it before? I just always used to throw my “bad” bananas away, but I won’t do that anymore! I made this recipe and it’s so good!
My anaheim pepper plants are going crazy and late last week I harvested 12 peppers from my two little plants! Breakfast tacos for dinner this week!
