How was your weekend? Did you spend it pumpkin patch-ing and sipping all things pumpkin and apple?
We attempted to visit our second pumpkin patch of the season Saturday afternoon. Apparently we weren’t the only ones who had that idea (shocker, right?) and we ended up turning around and making a detour to Stone Brewery because we were in crazy traffic getting to the pumpkin patch. We’re going to try to head back on a weekday in order to skip the crowd!
It was San Diego cold last week (read: it was 72 degrees), so I enjoyed my first hot pumpkin spice latte of the season. I’m not a fan of the coffee from the mochachocofrappalatte place we all know, so I stopped by a local coffee shop for my pumpkin fix. They make their own pumpkin spice syrup and it is amazing! I can’t wait for another “cold front” so I can go back!
My child is HUUUUUGE fan of Costco. Since we’ve become members we’ve been going almost every week and she loves it – mostly because of all the samples I let her eat. She will honestly eat things at Costco that she wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole at home. Why is that?!?!
I finally caught up on This is Us. I told you a few weeks back that I loved the first episode, and the second and third did not disappoint. After the crazy ending of the premiere, I wasn’t sure the following episodes would be able to compete, but they did (in my opinion) and I’m excited to see where the show goes. If you haven’t seen it yet, you must! It’s my new Parenthood.
Last week’s “cold” weather had me craving soup, so I made this one from one of my favorite food blogs. It was soooooo good! I loved the kick the red pepper flakes added. Oh, and Cecilia scarfed down a little bowl of it, too.
To go with the soup, I made this bread. It was so easy and it was the first yeasted bread that has actually turned out for me (I always seem to kill the yeast). It wasn’t as pretty as the pictures in the original post, but I’m going to keep at it and hopefully one day it will be!
Have a great week!
