Hi! How was your weekend?
It was Christmas central over here as I bought and wrapped gifts and tried to finish up the shopping. I only have a few more gifts left to buy! WHEW!
Yesterday I was trying to get Cecilia to watch a Christmas show and she wasn’t having it. We watched all of five minutes of a couple of Mickey Mouse Christmases, a Winnie the Pooh Christmas and a Thomas the Train Christmas and all I got were screams. Finally, I put it on the Rockettes Holiday Spectacular and she LOVED IT. She was completely mesmerized and even tried some dance moves of her own. I see dance lessons in our future.
I’m so excited because this weekend I’m having a baking day at my house with Cecilia and one of her friends. Both her and her friend love to be in the kitchen so we’re going to have a fantastic morning baking up three different types of treats. I’m totally prepared for my kitchen to be a mess of flour and sprinkles after, but I wouldn’t have it any other way because it will totally show that they had a blast.
Tuesday TV is just becoming to much for me to handle! I have to prioritize between Fixer Upper, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Ladies of London and This is Us. Most of the time the first three win out and I watch This is Us OnDemand later in the week because it’s one of those shows where I have to be in the mood to cry and devote all of my attention to it because there’s a lot you can miss if you’re distracted.
Speaking of This is Us – holy mole that ending! What did you think? Also, if you’re not watching it, YOU NEED TO! It’s so crazy good.
Last week we went to our first pre-preschool parent and child class. Basically what it is is a truncated version of a preschool session where the kids have outside play, inside play/crafts, snacks and circle time. Cecilia was incredibly shy the entire time, but when we left definitely started to break out of her shell. I’m looking forward to seeing what this week brings.
We also went and saw Santa last week and it was another disaster just like last year. My poor child hates Santa and probably hates me a little now, too, for making her go sit on his lap. Maybe one day we’ll get a nice smiling shot of her and the big guy.
For you Gilmore Girls fans, what did you think about this article and theory about Rory and Logan? While I really like the theory and the writer’s train of thought, I just don’t buy it.
I hope you all have a fantastic week! While it’s inevitable holiday-related stress will start to creep up on us (if it hasn’t already), remember to take some time for yourself and soak up all of the goodness this time of year brings.
