Hiya! How was your weekend????
Last week it felt like summer was right around the corner because we were having some super warm weather. Well, Mother Nature was just tricking us, because it was been cold and rainy here the past few days. I don’t think it’s supposed to rain the rest of the week, but our weather will be peaking at the high 6os to low 70s. Looks like we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for the summer weather to come and stay.
I’m a huge fan of the British royal family and I was glued to my phone last week when news broke about an emergency middle of the night meeting of the Queen’s staff. I thought for sure we were going to hear sad news about Prince Philip, but thank goodness that wasn’t the case. Any other royal watchers reading this?
Last week I started listening to podcasts. I know, I know. Welcome to 2007, Christina. While it wasn’t my first time EVER listening to one (Travis and I binged the first season of Serial on a drive to the Bay Area a couple years ago), last week was the first time I ever downloaded a podcast for myself. I listened to Katie Couric’s interview with Ina Garten and now I’ve moved onto listening to The West Wing Weekly, an episode-by-episode breakdown of The West Wing. What are your favorite podcasts to listen to? I’m all ears!
Speaking of The West Wing, I’ve started watching the show all over again starting from episode one. After I watch the episode, I download the corresponding episode of the podcast and get all the inside scoop. I’ve watched the show all the way through few times and I fall more in love with it every single time.
With this wet weather, the seeds I planted a couple weeks ago are going crazy! I can’t wait until flowers start to bloom!
Over the weekend, I did my first canning of the spring/summer. I’ve got four half-pint jars of super yummy strawberry jam in my cupboard right now and I can’t wait to do more in the coming months.
I tried Trader Joe’s canned wine yesterday and it wasn’t bad. My store was out of the rosé, so I tried the white sparkling. It was a little on the sweet side for me, but for $3.99 for four small cans, I can totally deal with it. It’s so perfect for picnics!
Have a fantastic week and Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms reading this!
