Happy Monday and Happy July! Are you enjoying a long holiday weekend? Tell me all about it!
We don’t have plans for the Fourth of July, but if it’s anything like this past weekend, it’s going to be filled with lots of friends/family time, swimming, eating and enjoying the gorgeous weather we’ve been having. No complaints about any of that from me!

Well, it’s 13 days and counting until we leave for Italy and I feel completely unprepared. Anyone want to come be my assistant and help a girl out???? I feel like my to do list is a mile long.
Last week I celebrated my 35th birthday. The day itself wasn’t so great, because my child spent about half of it in timeout, but I did get in a good shopping trip before she completely broke down. In my June favorites post, I talked all about how great it felt walking into a store and buying something I wanted versus something I needed. I hadn’t done that in quite a while, so it was a nice thing to do for myself.
On Saturday, Cecilia and I visited the San Diego Botanic Garden. I had only been once before and that was way before she was born (I don’t even think I was married when I went) so it was nice to go back and explore it with her. She absolutely loved it and I can’t wait to go back. They have a ton of fun things for kids to do and I definitely recommend it if you’re in the area.
Re-watching The West Wing has me super excited for the DC leg of our upcoming trip. I just wish Josiah Bartlett was president and I could visit him and the rest of The West Wing crew at the White House.
Have a wonderful week!
