And, we’re back!
We arrived in San Diego Saturday afternoon after three weeks away and have been trying to get back to our normal schedules since. So far, that has consisted of grocery shopping to re-stock the fridge, waking up at 4am (because, jet lag) and attempting to keep the tired toddler meltdowns to a minimum.
There was a lot of airline drama during our travel from Milan to DC last weekend and because of it, we still don’t have our stroller. I’ve been told twice that it will be shipped to us, so we’ll see what happens. The good thing is that it’s our inexpensive travel umbrella stroller and not our beloved BOB.
Since leaving Italy, I’ve been trying to detox from all the carbs, sugar, prosecco and Aperol I consumed. I’ve been doing fairly well, but I want to start making bread at home, so the whole carb thing will go out the window soon. We had the most amazing foccacia in Italy and I want to try my hand at making it at home. Send me your bread-making tips! Oh! And I also want to get back to making fresh pasta because I think Cecilia will have a blast with it.
I have so many pictures, stories and travel tips to share with you, so some travel posts will be coming your way over the few weeks.
I finished two books (and started a third) while we were on vacation, so those book reviews will be making their way on here soon, too!
If you follow me on Instagram and watched my stories while I was away, you know that I got eaten alive by mosquitos in Italy. Per usual, I was the only one in the family who got bitten and my final tally came to 29 bites. UGH.
I have been yearning for Fall HARD CORE the past couple of weeks. I always look forward to the season, but, this year, I’ve been thinking about it non-stop! I can’t help myself! It’s my favorite season and I can’t wait for the food, decorations, excitement and smells. Love it.
We are just about to the one-month countdown for Cecilia starting pre-school! I can’t believe it! I’m so excited for her that I can’t take it. We love the pre-school already and I know she’s going to have the best time and have some amazing experiences.
Have a great week!!!!
