Happy September! How’d the weekend treat you?
It was ridiculously HOT here this weekend. I’m talking in the 100s, which is fairly rare for San Diego, but happens maybe a few days out of the year. We did as much as we could to stay cool, but it was still crazy hot. It rained a little bit yesterday and it’s cloudy today, so hopefully the extreme heat is behind us.
Well, it’s the last week before Cecilia starts preschool! We have a meet and great with her teacher this week as well as a parent orientation. I can’t believe the time is here already, but I’m really excited for her to go and I think she is, too.
As for me, I’m ready to decorate for Fall and make soups every night. Anybody else? I think I may pull out the decorations this weekend.
Before I decorate for the holidays, I like to really clean the house and purge what I can. I don’t know why I like to do that, but I do. I’m hoping to give our living room shelves a good clean this week and purge/donate what we don’t need. I also want to tackle the storage closet underneath our stairs, but it’s such a hot mess I don’t even know where to begin with it.
Now that you’ve had about a week to digest the new Taylor Swift song, what do you think about it? I didn’t totally hate it when I first heard it and it’s definitely growing on me more. I don’t really see the difference between the old and new Taylor in the lyrics, but I’m sure her new album will be a smash like the others.
My garden is a sad state of affairs right now. Before we left for Italy, I pulled some plants that weren’t doing so well, so my plot is somewhat bare right now. I’m waiting for the nurseries to get in more of their Fall plants before I plant more.
What are you reading right now? I’ve been reading The Nest!
Have a great week!
