How was your weekend? The picture above sums up mine. My girl had her very first cold. She was pretty uncomfortable the first day, but I think I felt worse than she did. I didn’t sleep because I just wanted to watch her every second to make sure she was okay. She’s on the mend now and is her normal smiley, happy self.
I love Dateline. Like, really love it. I look forward to Friday and Saturday nights when it’s on and I love trying to solve the mystery in the first five minutes. I’m actually pretty good at it, too, which makes me think I should become a detective. I wouldn’t be able to be around the grisly crime scenes, though, so I’ll come in to point the finger at the spouse who’s having a secret affair. That always seems to be how all the crimes are solved. You don’t believe me? Watch an episode and you’ll see that that’s always what happens.
Now that I have a newborn, I totally get it when I heard moms talk about how showering is a luxury. Seriously if I can wash my hair AND my face in one day, I feel downright decadent.
Do you watch the show Modern Family? I never watched an episode until a few months ago and now whenever it’s on TV, I have to stop and watch it. I’ve never laughed at loud so often when watching a TV show. I’m a fan of The Big Bang Theory and would always get so angry when Modern Family would beat them for an Emmy or some other award because I thought “what could be better than Big Bang?” Now that I watch Modern Family, I totally get it.
I’m trying to get back onto the book reading train. When I was on maternity leave and waiting for Cecilia to come, I bought Andy Cohen’s The Andy Cohen Diaries. I’m pretty much obsessed with most shows on Bravo and had heard good things about the book. It turned into a “feeding reading” book when I was up every few hours in those first few weeks of motherhood. I totally love that he dropped a ton of celebrity names and when he described certain sticky situations with unnamed Housewives, I loved trying to figure out who he was talking about 🙂 If you love all things Bravo like I do, it’s an entertaining read.
I’m currently reading The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. Have you read it? I’ve read it’s supposed to be the next Gone Girl, so that was the main draw for me because I loved that book. The movie not so much.
Now that I’ve been cleared for exercise, I’m starting to think of what I want to start with first to shed the rest of the baby weight. Any suggestions? I feel so out of shape, so I’m sort of scared of starting with some sort of group class with people who are in MUCH better shape than I currently am. More on all this to come in a separate post!
Believe it or not, summer is coming! I know that Spring just started, but I’m of the mindset that summer begins Memorial Day weekend which seems to be coming up fast. Last year I came up with a summer bucket list and I’ll be doing the same this year. I’m even starting to brainstorm now!
Oh, and one more baby-related thought – nothing is better than my baby girl falling asleep on me. N-O-T-H-I-N-G.
