How was your weekend? Did you do anything for Easter? I celebrated by finally taking all of our Christmas cards down. Ha! We also had a lovely picnic in the park, enjoyed the beautiful weather we’ve been having and had Cecilia FaceTime with family members.
I’m finally getting back to cooking at home and I love it. Saturday I made a leek, bacon and pea risotto I modeled after one I had on our honeymoon in Italy, then Sunday I made this pasta e ceci and this garlic confit toast. Both were good, but the garlic toast rocked! I’m a sucker for garlic bread and I easily could have eaten the whole baguette I made of it.
I spent a lot of my weekend waiting, not so patiently, for the Mad Men premiere. I’m normally underwhelmed by the premieres because there is so much time that lapses between seasons that it takes a while to catch up and set the scene with all of the characters that I feel like absolutely nothing happens. I was slightly underwhelmed by this premiere, too, but when I look back on it, quite a bit happened and I think the “scene” was set faster than in seasons past. The best part to me was seeing the (brief) return of Rachel Menken Katz played by Maggie Siff. I LOVED Sons of Anarchy so it was great to see Tara Teller on TV 🙂
This week marks the official start to baseball season!!!! Who else is as excited as I am? I don’t make it to too many Padres games, but try to make it to as many Oakland A’s games as possible. Their schedule is one of the first things I check when I plan trips home to the Bay Area to visit family. During my summers home from college I went to so many games, I pretty much lived at the Oakland Coliseum and I’m hoping to show the baby my old hangout this year!
Last week, Cecilia and I did our first Stroller Strides class! We loved it! And by “we loved it” I mean that I had a great time getting back to working out and meeting other moms and she had a great time sleeping through the whole thing. Seriously, she woke up for about two minutes to see what was going on then went right back to sleep.
I got my haircut last week and it feels great. I got rid of about six inches and lots of the bulk. The gal who cuts my hair had a baby this last Thanksgiving so all we did was talk about childbirth and our babies. It was lovely 🙂
Not sure if I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m a Bravoholic. I love and watch most every show that’s on the station – especially the Housewives shows. I watch them all except for Miami and Atlanta. I stopped watching New York for a while, but now that Bethenny is back on, I may give it a go for a few episodes to see how I like it. Anyway, the Beverly Hills reunion episodes are airing now and they’re super juicy! Normally the first of the two or three parts is pretty lame, but not this year. It was drama! I can’t wait to watch the rest!
Did you catch the first two episodes of Lip Sync Battle? Can we say “new favorite show?!?!”
My daughter now smiles like crazy and is starting to coo and laugh. It is my everything.
