It’s the last Monday of October! What?!?! How did you spend the last weekend of the month?
On Saturday afternoon, Cecilia and I went to a birthday party for one of her friends then we went to our old North Park neighborhood for dinner. Yesterday morning and afternoon were spent lounging around the house and grocery shopping. At night, we went to the San Diego Zoo’s HalGLOWeen event and it was an absolute madhouse! We stayed for about 45 minutes then decided to head out and away from the insane crowd.
Last week was in the 90s and 100s weather-wise, but the heat broke yesterday and I think we’re in for lovely Fall weather from here on out (or at least I hope we are). It’s been cloudy and cool the past two days and I absolutely love it. Although, it makes me unproductive because I just want to nap or cover up in a warm blanket and watch Netflix all day 🙂
Did you check out last week’s post about what we’ve been cooking and eating lately? If you need some dinner inspiration, check it out! You can also check out a list of my favorite cold weather dishes if the temperatures in your area have taken a dip and you’re looking for some good comfort food!
On Friday, we did some pre-Halloween trick-or-treating in Little Italy. Cecilia dressed up in her Batman costume and had such a fun time. The event is attended by a few hundred people, so it can get a bit crazy, but it made me all the more excited to see Cecilia in real Halloween action tomorrow.
I’m in a total reading rut! I have a book I’m reading that I like and have been wanting to read, but at the end of each day I’ve just been so exhausted that I can’t read more than three pages without dozing off. I have got some ground to make up on my reading challenge, so I hope to pick up the pace soon!
Have you already started planning your Thanksgiving dinner? Or are you officially waiting until Halloween is behind us? If you’ve already started, tell me what you’re making!
I’ve had to take a step back from Twitter recently because it stresses me out. It’s become much more political than the other social media sites I use, and while I appreciate getting that information most of the time, it’s been really getting me down lately. I still check it, but I try not to look at it as often and if I feel like it’s too much, I shut it down versus just going down the rabbit hole like I used to. Of course, I want to know as much information about issues as I can, but I found that I just couldn’t concentrate on other things going on around me because I was so consumed with the news. Does that all make sense? Am I the only person this happens to?
I hope you all have an incredible week and close October out on a high note! We’ve only got two more months left of 2017!
