Happy Monday! Tell me about your weekend!
Ours was pretty laid back and since it’s been getting warmer the past couple of days, we’ve been staying inside with the cooler air as much as possible.
On Saturday I got bit by a bug while I was at the beach and yesterday the area swelled up like crazy. I even made a trip to Urgent Care to make sure it wasn’t serious. Apparently I’m one of the lucky people who ALWAYS gets bit (even when no one else does) AND is susceptible to allergic reactions because of it. Yay, me.
If you’ve been paying any attention to the news at all, you’ve heard about Hurricane Harvey and seen the devastation it has caused. Travis was born in Texas and most of his extended family lives there (many in the Houston area) and I went to college in Texas and have countless friends in the Houston area. It’s been horrible to see the damage and read their terrifying stories about what the storm has done in their area. Keep sending good thoughts their way!
We’re entering the last two weeks before Cecilia starts preschool! I still can’t believe it! I’m so excited for her and all of the things she’ll learn and friends she’ll make. Of course, I’ll probably be a blubbering mess those first few mornings, but overall, I’m so pumped for her.
San Diego State starts school today which means Travis’ summer is officially coming to an end. He doesn’t really get an actual summer break since he still teaches lessons throughout, but his schedule is definitely leaner when school is out.
While we’re one week away from Labor Day, summer isn’t going anywhere around these parts because it’s going to get into the upper 90s here this week. I looked at an extended forecast for our area and most of September is looking W-A-R-M. Like always, we’ll probably have to wait until November to feel the crisp autumn air.
Did you see the first part of our summer vacay wrap-up? If not, you can check it out here! More about our trip is coming your way soon!
Have you heard the new Taylor Swift song? What do you think about it? I wasn’t a big fan the first time I heard it, but it’s growing on me a little, although I think it’s super repetitive. I’m interested in hearing what the rest of the songs are like once the album comes out in November.
Did you watch the VMAs? I didn’t because I know it will make me feel old because I probably don’t know any of the artists. I think the last one I watched was the one with Miley Cyrus’ infamous performance. THAT really made me feel old and long for the days when I’d watch Britney and *NSYNC perform while sitting in my college dorm room. Those were the glory days.
I hope you have an incredible week!
